Chelsea's search for a new Sporting director is expected to end by the time the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off at the end of November.


The Blues are in the process of a huge transition period in the clubs' history, with new ownership from the Roman Abramovich era proving a lot of instability within the ranks. That uncertainty eventually impacted Thomas Tuchel's form on and off the pitch. Eventually, he was shown the door with Todd Boehly deciding enough was enough after the Dinamo Zagreb contest.

Instead, Michael Edwards and Paul Mitchell are two names high up on the list. The Times have reported too that the part LA-Dodgers owner has held talks with recently appointed PSG advisor Luis Campos.
