Roman Abramovich’s role in Russia-Ukraine peace talks revealed

When it was originally suggested a few weeks ago, the idea that Roman Abramovich was involved in peace talks between Ukraine and Russia seemed far-fetched, but since then, we've learned more and more about it.

It was first mentioned by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and now we have further information thanks to an exclusive in the New York Times.

According to Hannah Lucinda Smith's report today, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich met with a member of the Ukrainian parliament this week in Istanbul, where he is currently based.

The oligarch has also visited Moscow and Kiev, where he met with both Zelensky and Vladimir Putin and exchanged communications (including a handwritten note).

The talks appear to be progressing.
