What Pogba's shock statement about contract offer means for Man United

Manchester United's Paul Pogba has issued a statement rejecting media claims that he has been offered a new deal.

Pogba's contract expires in June, and he is free to negotiate with foreign teams, with United likely to lose him for the second time.

We previously reported on a storey from The Sun suggesting that United had offered Pogba a new deal for £500,000 per week, including a £400,000 base pay.

This looked to be an increase on the previous offer, which was said to be over £400,000 per week, making the Frenchman the club's highest-paid player.
