Manchester United confirm Ed Woodward departure date and Richard Arnold as replacement

On February 1, Ed Woodward will step down as Manchester United executive vice-chairman, and Richard Arnold will take over as chief executive.

Following his support for the doomed Super League, Woodward resigned in April, and it was expected that Arnold would succeed him.

"I am honoured to have the opportunity to serve this great club and its fans," Arnold said. I'm determined to repay your kindness in any way I can."

"I would like to thank Ed for his tireless work on behalf of Manchester United during his nine years as executive vice-chairman and 16 years with the club," United co-chairman Joel Glazer said.
