What Mason Mount did for Jorginho after devastating World Cup exit

Football rivalries are ephemeral, coming and going with little notice. 

Italy had no reason to despise England, but after defeating the Three Lions in the Euro 2020 final last summer, they rubbed it in, irritating England fans. 

When Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup this week (for the second time in a row), there was plenty of smugness around, and Mason Mount was even questioned if he was delighted to see them fail. 

He responded that he had been in contact with one of his club teammates, Jorginho, to express his sympathies during a difficult time for the Italy midfielder. 


That's how it should be, and that's exactly what we're going to do.
