Timo Werner tries to explain why he plays better for Germany than Chelsea
Timo Werner scored for Germany again yesterday, demonstrating that he is in greater form with his country than he is with his club, where he is now unable to obtain regular game time.
After the game, he was queried about the strange difference, and according to Nizaar Kinsella, he claimed that the style of play for his national side suited him better.
That's a pity. At club level, he's been tried in every position imaginable, including up top, on the left, on the right, with a partner, and alone.
If he doesn't feel at ease in any of them, perhaps it's time we all recognized that he won't be the lethal attacker we all hoped he'd be for us in the future.
