Ralf Rangnick speaks out on Manchester United's midfield issue

 

Manchester United must look at internal solutions, according to Ralf Rangnick, to address their midfield imbalance.


This season, United has deployed seven different midfield combinations, and opponents have exploited the area in all six of their Premier League losses.


Donny van de Beek was the last midfielder United purchased in a £40 million move from Ajax 18 months ago, but he has not started a league game this season and has only made two league starts in 2021.


Van van Beek might be recalled for Monday's FA Cup third-round clash against Aston Villa at Old Trafford, but Rangnick has stated that United will not make any midfield additions in the January transfer window.
