Manchester United suspensions could work in their favour again

The worst underachievers at Manchester United this season have been regulars who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer couldn't bear to replace.

Under interim and caretaker managers, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, and Bruno Fernandes all got their comeuppance, but Harry Maguire has eluded punishment despite being responsible for goals in the double digits.

When Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick benched Fernandes, they both got reactions. In Spain, Fernandes teamed up with Marcus Rashford to turn a goalless draw into a 2-0 victory and secure a place in the Champions League knockout round. On Monday, Fernandes smashed his close-range shot against the crossbar with the goal gaping, but he still created Cristiano Ronaldo's sole chance of the night and nearly stole a point.
