Former Barcelona player closing in on Chelsea switch






The defender was brought in to give support and competition for Jordi Alba, although he only played 46 times in two seasons before leaving to Everton in 2018. He quickly established himself as one of the greatest left-backs in the Premier League after making the club.


Digne's attacking contributions and leadership abilities earned him a fan following at Goodison Park, as well as a recall to the France national team.


His time with the Merseysiders, however, is coming to an end. The 28-year-old recently had a squabble with manager Rafael Benitez over the club's negative tactics under the Spaniard, who has exiled him from the first squad and placed him on the transfer market.
